Rainforest threats and benifits
Major threats to the rainforest
In just the last 50 years, one third of tropical rainforests have been destroyed, 46-58 thousand square miles of forest are lost each year, and in fact the humans are doing majority of the damage. humans have been cutting down trees for thousands of years and if they keep destroying the forest , over time there might barely be much left of the rainforests .It is not just the humans that damage the rainforet it is also natural disasters such as fires , droughts and storms. Many activities cause the deforestation including oil extraction, logging, mining, fires, agriculture, cattle ranching, hydroelectric projects, pollution, hunting and poaching, the collection of fuel wood and building material, and road constructions.
Major sustainable uses of the rainforest
Oxen drawn carts can be used to move timber within the rainforest because they cause less damage than heavy machinery, which often require roads and large amounts of felling. Education of the local people is vital to the success of a sustainable rainforest.
